The course I have completed through Cape Reptile Institute under the watchful eyes of Dr Tony Phelps, Marcel Witberg and Kobus Smit, is certified by FGASA (Field Guides Association of South Africa). FGASA provides people with a educational opportunity to promote the conservation and rehabilitation of the natural heritage of South Africa. They aim to provide professional guiding to groups of people in the most well-informed and safety conscious approach possible. These guides are conducted using training programs that conform to high standards of learner development.
You can learn more about them by clicking on the FGASA logo below to see all the amazing work that they do.

If you are really interested in Herpetofauna, then make sure to join the Herpetological Association of Africa. There's a small fee of R200 per year and it's worth every penny. The HAA release two newsletters as well as two African Journal's of Herpetology per year. The journals contain announcements of new species that have been found, geographical distribution and husbandry hints.
